The Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok at Chao Phraya River has been ranked third in the world’s best hotels for 2023 by a leading authority.

We recently visited the Four Seasons Hotel and are pleased to express our impressions. Its location on the Chao Phraya River, Bangkok’s principal waterway, offers easy access to major shopping centres and parks.

The hotel is conveniently located near the BTS Saphan Taksin station (Airport Rail Link), with a pier providing direct access for hotel guests. A complimentary shuttle boat service operates regularly between the hotel pier and Saphan Taksin pier.

A taxi journey from the airport takes approximately 45 minutes (excluding traffic).

Territory

The hotel is ideally situated for exploring Bangkok. Its tranquil riverside location offers a peaceful area, with the 12-storey building surrounded by lush greenery providing a cool and refreshing atmosphere. Evening strolls along the river are a particular highlight.

Rectangular swimming pools, surrounded by sun loungers and secluded areas, each with its own distinct style, evoke the feeling of Thailand’s islands.

Design

The hotel seamlessly blends Thai minimalism with meticulous attention to detail. High-quality materials, such as fabrics and wood, are used throughout, creating a perfect balance of elegance and comfort. The overall style is sophisticated and business-like.

Room

We were delighted with our Premier Room, which boasted panoramic river views from its large windows. The room’s comfortable beds, complete with luxuriously soft pillows, ensured a restful sleep, and the modern interior, featuring a large LCD screen, dining area, and comfortable sofa, added to the overall pleasant experience. Prices start from 22,000 THB (approx. $680) per night for two, with other room categories available at varying price points.

The spacious bathroom is cleverly zoned, featuring a freestanding bath, separate shower with a refreshing tropical shower head (perfect for cooling off after a hot day), and a toilet.

The room features comfortable flooring; tile and parquet in the living area and carpeting in the sleeping area. Guests are provided with Four Seasons slippers and comfortable, natural-fibre robes.

High ceilings will satisfy even the most discerning guests. The ventilation system provides smooth and pleasant cooling; please avoid over-cooling as this can be detrimental to your health. Lighting and air conditioning are easily controlled.

Service

Our three-night stay allowed us to fully appreciate the impeccable service. The staff were attentive yet unobtrusive, spoke excellent English, and possessed an intuitive understanding of when to offer assistance and when to allow guests their privacy.

Food

Michelin-starred chefs oversee the power-packed kitchen, and the Social Club bar, awarded Asia’s best, offers a sophisticated drinks selection (please remember to drink responsibly). Expect a fusion of European and Asian culinary excellence, starting your day with a choice of coffee or the healthier coconut juice, followed by an omelette or noodles. Morning meals. A wide selection of fresh fruits, salads, meats, fish, seafood, and signature Hong Kong dumplings awaits, complemented by freshly squeezed juices and an exceptional array of pastries and desserts – a truly decadent experience.

Chao Phraya Terrace: A Mini Review

Chao Phraya Terrace offers a unique fine-dining experience, a seasonal restaurant perched on the banks of the Chao Phraya River. It showcases exquisite Thai cuisine crafted from the finest ingredients. The atmosphere is breathtaking, with stunning city and river views, particularly spectacular at sunset when the sky is painted in vibrant hues of pink. Comfortable seating and individual lighting create an intimate and luxurious ambiance.

Social Club: A Top-Tier Bar

Social Club is a world-class bar, the perfect spot for a balmy evening and expertly crafted cocktails. I sampled what I can confidently say was the best Pina Colada of my life.

Fitness and Spa

The Four Seasons boasts a spacious and well-equipped fitness centre with exceptionally friendly and helpful staff.

The expansive spa is truly impressive in size and includes a steam sauna infused with Thai herbs and a hot water pool – the perfect way to unwind after a long flight. This is complimentary for hotel guests.

Opposite the fitness centre, guests will find a swimming pool with lanes for laps.

Conclusion

Bangkok is a city I recommend. Enjoy its blend of modern and traditional architecture, beautiful parks, and vibrant food markets.

The Four Seasons Hotel deserves a perfect 10/10 rating. It’s simply the best hotel in Bangkok.
